APMP Executive Summaries micro-certification - 17 July 2025
APMP Executive Summaries Micro-Certification Online
The executive summary of your proposal is the first thing your customer reads. It’s the most closely scrutinised and hence the most important part of your proposal. Join us for this online course, delivered by a highly acclaimed trainer, to prepare you to pass APMP’s new micro-certification in executive summaries. (Please note: this is delivered in real-time, with the chance for interaction and questions – it’s not a pre-recorded module.)
Course content
We’ll explore best practices in creating executive summaries, in line with APMP’s recently updated Body of Knowledge section on this topic, covering content such as:
- the main aims of the executive summary
- the audience: who are you writing to / for?
- the process to be followed when writing the exec summary
- roles and responsibilities in developing an exec summary
- how to structure a compelling exec summary.
We’ll also include a short case study, reviewing exec summary content, and some practice exam questions.
How the course works
This session will take place online in Microsoft Teams, and will be facilitated by Jon Williams – an APMP Fellow with an outstanding track record of helping candidates through APMP’s qualifications.
You’ll be sent a calendar invitation with the link to the course.
Please note that there are no pre-requisites for attending this course, other than to be an APMP member – see below!
How the exam works
We’ll register you for the exam with APM Group, the exam board, before the course. They’ll send you an email with the link to use when you’re ready to sit the exam.
Your course price include the exam fee, and you’ll sit the exam online at a date / time of your own choosing – ideally, soon after the course. Payment must be received in full before the course date.
There are 25 multiple choice questions in the exam, with a pass mark of 17. You’ll be given 30 minutes to sit it – or 38 minutes if English isn’t your first language. The exam is “open book”, and we’ll provide you with access to the relevant APMP briefing document about executive summaries, as well as a copy of the course slides.
In the unlikely event that you fail the exam, there is no waiting period before you’re allowed to re-sit the exam, but you will need to pay the exam fee again.
APMP membership required
You must be a member of APMP to attend the course. How do I join APMP? If you’re not already a member, you’ll need to go to APMP’s website and sign up via the “Individual Membership” option (not included in your course fee). Please note that the surname we use to book your exam paper must exactly match the surname on your APMP membership. So if you’ve changed your name recently please do make sure you check carefully..
What’s the cancellation policy?
If you choose to cancel your place on the course after paying, or do not attend, then no refunds will be payable.
