Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does it cost? The course costs £440 (plus VAT if you are in the UK). (You will be liable for any local withholding taxes where applicable.)

2. What's included? The fee includes the online training and the APMP Foundation v4 exam fee. Payment must be received in full before the first course date.

3. How do I join APMP? You must be a member of APMP to attend the course. If you're not already a member, you'll need to go to APMP's website and sign up via the "Individual Membership" option (not included in your course fee). Please note that the surname we use to book your exam paper must exactly match the surname on your APMP membership. So if you've changed your name recently please do make sure you check carefully.

4. What are the course dates? The course will be split over two sessions. The dates and timings are at the top of this information leaflet.

5. What technology will be used? We'll present the course using MS Teams and you will be sent a calendar invitation with the links. 

   Each of the two sessions will last three and a half hours with a ten-minute break. Please come ready to join in the conversation, with cameras on. Your course will be presented by Jon Williams, our UK managing director and a Fellow of APMP. Do connect with him on LinkedIn!

6. Is there any pre-reading? The course covers the whole syllabus, but some people like to read sections of APMP's material in advance to give themselves a little more context and confidence. You can sign into the APMP Foundation Study Guide (Version 4) with the same user name and password that you use for APMP's main website.

   This is recommended not mandatory, and there's no need whatsoever to learn it all by heart! The most relevant ten chapters to read are:

7. Can I practise the exam? If you'd like to try a practice exam to see the sort of questions that get asked, head to this link and choose "APMP (v4) Foundation" from the drop-down menu. Even if you don't work through all the questions, it's worth a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the user interface before you sit the exam for real!

8. How do I register for the online exam? We'll register you with APMP's exam board, APM Group. They'll then email you directly, after the first course, with a link that you can follow to sit the exam online. You can do this at a date / time of your own choosing: we recommend you sit the exam within a few days of the second class. The exam lasts 65 minutes. If English is not your first language, you will be granted an additional 15 minutes. You'll be sent a note from the exam board (APM Group International) between the first and second sessions. Please keep this safe as it containts the link for you to use when you're ready to sit the exam online. We recommend that you book out two hours in your diary to sit the exam within a few days of the second session, while the material is still fresh in your mind. The exam system is available 24*7, but is sometimes down for routine maintenance on Monday afternoons and evenings UK time.

9. What's the pass mark? The assessment comprises a multiple-choice examination of 75 questions. The pass mark is 42.

10. What if I fail? We hope you won't! But if you don't pass, you can resit. The cost of the re-sit is not included in the fee for this course.

11. What materials can I consult? The exam is open book, so you'll be able to use the various materials we'll share with you during the course - including copies of the slides, the APMP Foundation Study Guide and the APMP Glossary.

12. What's the cancellation policy? If you choose to cancel your place on the course after paying, or do not attend, then no refunds will be payable.
