Exploring the future of proposal development with Gen-AI

Strategic Proposals is committed to staying at the forefront of innovation in proposal development, so we're exploring applications of AI in our proposal development process

We're currently conducting a scenario-based series of tests using Gen-AI.
We'll share the results with you and provide insights into
what we found.

The scenario

We've crafted a scenario that reflects a common challenge in the technology sector:

Techtron Solutions, a prospective client, is seeking a training program to improve their bid, sales and solution architecture skills and enhance win rates. The program must be concise, impactful and tailored to Techtron's aim of refining its proposal development processes and techniques.

The tests

To respond to Techtron Solutions' requirements, we're producing four versions of the proposal, each using a different method:

1. Human expert only:

An SP consultant will draft a response themselves, applying their domain expertise to propose a customised solution, including an implementation plan and post-training support.

2. Gen-AI with web input:

Use Gen-AI to create a proposal based on natural language prompts and drawing information from the internet.

3. Gen-AI with SP input:

Use Gen-AI again but this time have it draw on content from previous SP proposals. We'll do two versions of this test, one with an AI-based edit, one without.

4. Gen-AI with SP input and human revision:

An SP writer revises version three, without re-writing it, to improve its clarity, coherence and alignment with client expectations.

Our goal

Our goal is to measure the quality and efficiency of each method. Three of our experts will independently review the four proposals and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. This will help us determine the best way, if any, to integrate Gen-AI into our proposal generation method.
We believe this test will offer valuable insights into Gen-AI's capabilities in developing proposals and help us identify best practices for integrating it into our processes. Stay tuned for the results and our findings, which we hope will contribute to the broader conversation about the role of AI in bids and proposals.
